PRE-KINDER

We provide experiences that enrich and enhance each child’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, spiritual and creative development. Within our prekinder’s daily schedule, each child has opportunities to create, explore the environment, learn problem solving, personal interaction skills, and learn concepts through first-hand experiences.

Children develop a positive self-concept through a balance of self and teacher directed activities.

We are committed to the belief that children are achievers… that is, they CAN DO a lot. It is the role of the teacher to build upon those things that children are able to do. We believe that most of life’s learning - including how to learn - occurs in the first five years of life. Since each child learns at her/his own pace, our teachers look to determine the next stage of development. This “can do” attitude allows our society’s precious future to become confident and to enjoy successes in an atmosphere of respect, warmth, and love.

We offer a prekinder program that provides a customized learning environment within a small classroom setting. Our curriculum consists of the following:

* Recognition of name
* Beginning Phonics rules
* Sounding of blends
* Memory Bible verses
* Tracing & Writing (manuscript)
* Number recognition, counting, and tracing 1 - 50
* Days of the week
* Beginning addition
* Beginning subtraction
